Week 8 DFI

 23/06/2021

Paprore Kura

Good morning, We started off with our korero catch ups, I expressed that I can help with animation as I have been practising this week with my students WooHoo!By our koero i think that we all really are coming to the reality that this is nearly the end of our DFI journey.

1st up is Dorothy Burt, she has good weekly korero. 'Rewindable learning' empowers the 'Ubiquitous learner'. To me this allows for the learner to learn at his/her own pace. She spoke about 'if it's worth teaching, it's worth capturing' and if it's worth teaching, it's worth learning. Capture it so we can rewind and watch and learn again. A great idea that she spoke about, if a student wants assistance, record your explanation or conversation so the learner can rewind the conversation and listen again.

Why Cybersmart?? with Vicki - This encourages the learners to be independent and responsible while using digital learning devices.  My understanding is that we can see the learners progress visually and also their history to see if they are using the 'kawe of care'.

Partnership - Participate - Protection  ; Vicki spoke about equity for all to learn. If we all use the same devices, then we can all be on the same page. So the schools decided to provide the learners the same device throughout the school for learners to use and even the whanau to have the opportunity to view their child's learning.

We got to have a tutu on a students chromebook which are slightly different, to our devices just to get into our learners feel of their learning. Then we moved on an ipad little tutu. That was great drawing - photo - recording - exporting. These little hands on are really cool for me as a learner.

Here is Explain Everything that I made on an ipad. It was quite easy to make with detailed instructions. Yeay ME!!

I have taken away today so much again with my hapara and the extra things I can do on it. Vicki is amazing, fast and efficient with her presentation. She also refreshed me on the spreadsheets which will help on the exam. Actually speaking of exam she made me feel that we're going to be great at it so YES to the exam.
Thanks ladies

WOW! We are at this absolutely ataahua serenity place on the Waitangi grounds.  Once again we start off with our beautiful waiata karakia and straight into our www.

We were introduced to Jacob Walker and we introduced ourselves to him.👏

Our Hapara hot tip is always good. I think that I have it sussed but once I have a go I seemed to get flusted lol 😂

We moved onto DDDO Design Developing Digital Outcomes. Lots of creating resources I have to learn along with technical wording to learn and use. Kerri went through progress outcomes from students which was good.

9/06/2021 Paparore School

 9/06/2021

Back at Paparore school today and what a beautiful day it is. I should have hung my washing before I came. BUGGER!

We as always started off with our beautiful waiata karakia and sharing what we have done during the week. I shared that I havn't really been doing that much as it was the long weekend and looking after my mother in law while doing my mid year reports zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz So full on at the moment.

First up we have Dorothy again. She is in Auckland today. She speaks again about connecting with everyone and how it can be empowering. Dorothy also spoke about all the clusters that are coming on board with Manaiakalani (the hook from heaven), from top Te Hapua down to Christchurch. She also spoke about tuhi mai tuhi atu which I am unfamiliar with. I feel that it is to enhance students to be cybersmart while sharing blogs appropriately and reminding us what is available with online networks.

What a choice whakatauki

Te mea nui rawa ia ko te noho tahi, ko te whakawhanaunga, ko te whakawhitiwhiti whakaaro....the important thing is living together, making friends and exchanging ideas.

Chalk n talk - I always enjoy this session as it is more detailed for me and again kanohi to kanohi (it is the way I learn). Having the slides directly in front of me is exactly what I need for my planning. AMAZING.

Shared morning tea was delicious MMMMMMMMMM thank you

Exploring class sites; This was great to have a tutu and look at some amazing class sites. It is exactly how I want to set mine up. I am finding it a little confusing at the minute to input literacy into literacy of maths into maths and so forth. But, with this session it has opened my eyes for sure.

Moving onto our next session after another beautiful kai with Vicki Archer. We carried on with making our own sites, making  site buttons and adding links. Yeeayyy for me.  I needed alot of assistance with this but I am so proud at making a start with my very own class site. I now am (well I think) that I am ready to insert. WOOHOO!!!

Thank you once again for today and a yummy shared kai that we forgot to take a photo.

Collaborate - Sites Agenda Week 5

 3rd June 2021

Here we are again but this time we are in Ohaeawai. As always we start off the day with karakia but today we gizzed our karakia into a waiata which is absolutely beautiful. (i'm going to learn it).

It is always great to hear how my other peers are doing? Their highs and lows as well as mine. What is working and what is not or where do we need help? I love it!!!!

First up we have Dorothy Burt presenting us with 'Visible Learning' by Planning - Process - Outcomes - Assessment and making our learning visible by default. She also spoke about Visible as in Accessible - Available - Advance "Don't make learning a SURPRISE". Put the learning in front of the learner and don't be afraid to put everything in front of them.                  She also spoke about putting our inquiry out there for everyone to view (hmmmm I feel that i'm not that confident to share at the moment). Always great to listen to Dorothy, today she is in her office at her school.

As always and lucky we have kanohi to kanohi with Kerri. I have never heard of Multi Modal. To me it is about communication using Multimodal Modes. Keeping the learner interested, making sure the learning is ready and available for the learner, why should they wait for the teacher or the the next learner. ( I like this idea) a teacher here at Ohaeawai (my sis n law) she uses this as an independent learning tool and said "it works great". Let the learner become independent and responsible for their own learning. Visibility enables accelerated shift. Behavioural V Cognitive. Make it visual fresh and relevant.

Hapara Hot tips - I just have to keep tutu - ing on this site. you can see it is very handy and efficient.

Multi Text Database - this is a cool tool to have especially with my independent planning as I mentioned before with Visual learning.

My Site Plan This was a cool session as we got to experience hands on, share and create. This is going to be a great asset for my teaching and independent learning in my classroom. (Once I familiarise myself with it). Here is the beginning of my planning site WHEW!! The Beginning
