Collaborate - Sites Agenda Week 5

 3rd June 2021

Here we are again but this time we are in Ohaeawai. As always we start off the day with karakia but today we gizzed our karakia into a waiata which is absolutely beautiful. (i'm going to learn it).

It is always great to hear how my other peers are doing? Their highs and lows as well as mine. What is working and what is not or where do we need help? I love it!!!!

First up we have Dorothy Burt presenting us with 'Visible Learning' by Planning - Process - Outcomes - Assessment and making our learning visible by default. She also spoke about Visible as in Accessible - Available - Advance "Don't make learning a SURPRISE". Put the learning in front of the learner and don't be afraid to put everything in front of them.                  She also spoke about putting our inquiry out there for everyone to view (hmmmm I feel that i'm not that confident to share at the moment). Always great to listen to Dorothy, today she is in her office at her school.

As always and lucky we have kanohi to kanohi with Kerri. I have never heard of Multi Modal. To me it is about communication using Multimodal Modes. Keeping the learner interested, making sure the learning is ready and available for the learner, why should they wait for the teacher or the the next learner. ( I like this idea) a teacher here at Ohaeawai (my sis n law) she uses this as an independent learning tool and said "it works great". Let the learner become independent and responsible for their own learning. Visibility enables accelerated shift. Behavioural V Cognitive. Make it visual fresh and relevant.

Hapara Hot tips - I just have to keep tutu - ing on this site. you can see it is very handy and efficient.

Multi Text Database - this is a cool tool to have especially with my independent planning as I mentioned before with Visual learning.

My Site Plan This was a cool session as we got to experience hands on, share and create. This is going to be a great asset for my teaching and independent learning in my classroom. (Once I familiarise myself with it). Here is the beginning of my planning site WHEW!! The Beginning
